NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara Women's Basketball team is prepared for another two-game Big West week, traveling to face CSUN on Thursday before returning home to host Hawai'i on Saturday.
GAUCHO CHECK IN
UC Santa Barbara enters the week following a 1-1 split, falling to UC Riverside 69-62 before bouncing back with a 63-54 win over Cal Poly.
Against Riverside, Zoe Borter led the Gauchos with 20 points, making her 18th double-digit scoring performance of the season. Chauncey Anderson added 13 points on an efficient 5-of-8 shooting night and led the team with 11 rebounds. Borter also paced the offense with 4 assists to pace the offense.
Borter carried that momentum into the matchup against Cal Poly, once again leading the team with 18 points. Olivia Bradley led the rebounding effort with six total, and five other Gauchos grabbed at least four rebounds. Maddie Naro also contributed 10 points to give UCSB another double-figure scorer.
SCOUTING CSUN
The Matadors enter Thursday coming off of a tough 54-63 loss to Hawai'i last Saturday. In that contest, Jite Gbemuotor, Marion Nazario, and Alisha White combined for 38 of CSUN's 54 points. Gbemuotor led all scorers with 19 points, marking her 10th career double-digit performance, while Nazario also recorded her 10th career game in double figures.
CSUN currently holds a 8-15 overall record and is 4-19 in Big West play entering Thursday's contest.
LOOKING AT THE RAINBOW WAHINE
Hawai'i enters the week with momentum after earning two wins last week, defeating CSU Bakersfield 61-54 and CSUN 63-54.
Saniyah Neverson and Ritorya Tamilo each recorded 13 points and six rebounds against Bakersfield. Neverson shot 4-of-6 from the field, while Tamilo set a career high with nine made free throws on 10 attempts. Against CSUN, Neverson kept the momentum up, tying her career high with 17 points and recorded 12 rebounds for her first double-double as a Rainbow Wahine.

Tip off against CSUN is set for 6 p.m. Thursday, February 19th, in The Matadome. The Gauchos then return home to host Hawai'i in The Thunderdome at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 21st. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+, with live stats available through the UCSB Athletics website.
