Gauchos Host No. 10 San Diego in Top-10 Showdown

| By:
SANTA BARBARA, Calif.  – The UC Santa Barbara Men's Tennis team is set to face yet another top-10 opponent after taking on three in the past week. Following the Women's first Super Six match in the morning, the Gauchos are slotted to host No. 10 San Diego at 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Gauchos look to rebound following their run at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship, where they faced a slate of top-10 opponents that handed them their first losses of the season.

The Blue and Gold fell 4-0 to No. 8 Texas A&M on Wednesday at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center. The Gauchos earned a decisive 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles from Diogo Morais and Lorenzo Brunkow, but the Aggies claimed the doubles point with victories on courts one and two. Texas A&M carried that momentum into singles, securing three straight-set wins to clinch the match while the other courts were left unfinished.

ABOUT THE TOREROS
USD enters the matchup 6-2 on the season, with multiple top-20 wins and most recently earning a 4-1 win over Cal. The Toreros feature a deep lineup highlighted by nationally ranked singles players No. 38 Oliver Tarvet, No. 103 Manvydas Balciunas, and No. 116 Stian Klaassen, along with the No. 69-ranked doubles pairing of Adrien Berrut and Lambert Ruland.

In his 11th season at the helm, head coach Ryan Keckley has guided the program to sustained national success since taking over in fall 2015. San Diego has finished in the final ITA team rankings in each of his 10 completed seasons, highlighted by a program-best No. 6 finish in 2025 and a final ranking of No. 9 that same year.
