Gauchos Meet Aggies at Home, Play Anteaters Away

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara Women's Basketball team will see another split schedule this week, first hosting UC Davis at home before heading to Orange County to take on UC Irvine. 

The Gauchos will face off against the Aggies on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 6:00 p.m. in the Thunderdome and the Anteaters on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 2:00 p.m. in the Bren Events Center. 

LAST TIME OUT
The Gauchos battled UC San Diego and Cal State Fullerton in their last matchups, falling to both teams in the games' final seconds.

Santa Barbara tussled with the visiting Tritons on Jan. 29, falling 52-49 after San Diego made a final basket to pull themselves ahead. Similarly, Fullerton made the final bucket of their Jan. 31 contest to come away 62-60. 

ABOUT THE AGGIES 
UC Davis sits at second in the Big West, having gone 9-2 in conference so far. One of those losses was to UC Santa Barbara, who defeated Davis 55-47 on the road in early January.

Davis is led by Ryann Bennett's 15.1 points per game and two-time Big West Player of the week Megan Norris' 12.3 rebounds per game. 

ANALYZING THE ANTEATERS
The Gauchos will be facing UC Irvine for the first time this season. The Anteaters are currently third in the Big West, 8-2 in conference play. UC Irvine witnessed two losses last week, falling to UC San Diego and Hawai'i for their first conference drops of the season. 

They are led by Hunter Hernandez, who has won the Big West Player of the Week four times this season. The senior is averaging 18.8 points per game, while Jada Wynn heads the team in rebounds with 7.6 per game.
