SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – After falling to Arizona, the UC Santa Barbara women's tennis team bounced back in a big way, defeating No. 22 Texas Tech. Shanelle Iaconi clinched the upset for the Gauchos and the comeback after being down 3-0.
 
MATCH ONE: ARIZONA, 4, UC SANTA BARBARA 1
Arizona claimed the doubles point with victories on courts two and one. Martyna Ostrzygalo and Ciara Moore delivered a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles over Ekua Youri and Raphaelle Leroux, followed by Josie Usereau and Maria Garcia securing a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles against My-Anh Holmes and Isabella Wong. The match at No. 3 doubles, featuring Lily Pradkin and Shanelle Iaconi against Danielle Tuhten and Tanvi Narendran, was left unfinished with a score of 5-4.
 
In singles, Moore extended the Wildcats' lead with a straight-set win at No. 3 singles, defeating Emma Tutoveanu 6-4, 6-4. UC Santa Barbara responded at No. 4 singles, where Shachf Liebermann won 6-0, 6-3 over Tuhten. Garcia furthered the 'Cats' advantage with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 5 singles over Katarina Vayser.
 
Arizona clinched the match at No. 6 singles, as Narendran posted a 7-5, 6-3 win over Caroline Beard. The matches at No. 1 and No. 2 singles were left unfinished, with #100 Youri trailing Usereau 0-2 and Isabella Wong trailing Ostrzygalo 0-3.

MATCH TWO: UC SANTA BARBARA 4, NO. 22 TEXAS TECH 3
Texas Tech secured the doubles point with victories on all three courts. The No. 2 doubles team of Mariia Hlahola and Elena Daskalova defeated Ekua Youri and Shachf Liebermann, 6-3. Following that, the No. 1 doubles pair of #62 Kate Dmitrichenko and Hailey Murphy overcame My-Anh Holmes and Isabella Wong, 6-2. The Red Raiders completed the sweep at No. 3 doubles as Ella Brownback and Polina Sleptsova recorded a 6-4 win against Lily Pradkin and Shanelle Iaconi.
 
In singles, Texas Tech initially extended its lead as Dmitrichenko secured a win at No. 2 singles over Wong, 6-3, 6-1. UC Santa Barbara responded with a victory at No. 1 singles where #100 Youri pushed Murphy to three sets before falling 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(7). Liebermann then added a point for UC Santa Barbara at No. 3 singles, overcoming Hlahola with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 comeback.
 
Emma Tutoveanu tied the match for UC Santa Barbara with a three-set win at No. 4 singles, defeating Daskalova 5-7, 6-2, 6-2. Holmes gave UC Santa Barbara the lead at No. 5 singles by finishing with a 6-2, 7-6(7) victory over Brownback. The match concluded with Iaconi's decisive win at No. 6 singles, where she bested Andreea Lila 3-6, 7-5, 6-2, clinching the 4-3 overall win for UC Santa Barbara.
