HONOLULU – The UC Santa Barbara Men's Volleyball team wrapped up their weekend series against Hawai'i on Saturday night, falling 3-0 in the second matchup.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hawai'i got off to an early lead in the first set, asserting a 9-6 heading. The Rainbow Warriors grew to a 17-10 lead before finalizing the first set at 25-16.
The Gauchos surged in the second set, finishing just three points behind at 25-22. Though Hawai'i led at 9-3, the Gauchos made eight of 10 points to catch up at 20-18. They stayed on pace through 21-20, but Hawai'i rallied and finished the set in charge.
The Rainbow Warriors were once again dominant in the third, finishing it 25-13. The Gauchos tied it at 7-7, but Hawai'i pushed ahead and claimed the set for themselves.
Ethan Saint led the team in kills, notching 10 and hitting. .350. George Bruening followed up with nine and led the team in digs with six. Cole Schobel made five digs and 26 assists. Josh Aruya went five for eight, hitting .625, and made two block assists.
