LOS ANGELES — The UC Santa Barbara women's tennis team defeated Loyola Marymount University  6-1 on Wednesday afternoon at the LMU Tennis Center. UC Santa Barbara swept all six singles matches, securing a decisive victory despite dropping the doubles point.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Loyola Marymount secured the doubles point with victories on courts one and three. Anastasia Bozova and Ada Piestrzynska defeated Shanelle Iaconi and Isabella Wong 6-4 at No. 1 doubles, while Kim-Michaela Zahraj and Helene Schnack clinched with a 6-3 win over Shachf Liebermann and Lily Pradkin at No. 3 doubles. The match on court two between My-Anh Holmes and Raphaelle Leroux against Lidia Gonzalez and Sofia Perovani was left unfinished with the score tied at 4-4.
 
In singles action, UC Santa Barbara responded decisively, sweeping all six matches. My-Anh Holmes set the tone with a commanding 6-2, 6-0 win over Helene Schnack at No. 4 singles. Caroline Beard added a point at No. 6 singles with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Sofia Perovani. Lily Pradkin extended the lead at No. 5 singles, defeating Kim-Michaela Zahraj 7-5, 6-3.
 
Isabella Wong and Emma Tutoveanu secured the match for UC Santa Barbara with victories at No. 2 and No. 3 singles. Wong triumphed over Ada Piestrzynska 6-4, 4-6, 6-1, while Tutoveanu edged Anastasia Bozova 7-6, 6-7, 10-4. Shachf Liebermann completed the sweep at No. 1 singles with a hard-fought 5-7, 6-5, 10-6 victory over Lidia Gonzalez.
