Paul Stumpf added the final piece to his puzzle after the signing of transfer Delilah Vega-Aguilar. The incoming sophomore played her rookie season at Cal State Bakersfield.
Vega-Aguilar appeared in 19 games, making two starts during the 2025 season. She totaled 697 minutes in her first season while taking 21 shots and recording an assist against Fresno State to record her first collegiate point and assist. In the games Vega-Aguilar played, the team outscored its opponents 26-19. Additionally, in games in which she started, the team outscored its opponents 7-1.
In high school, she was a four-time all-league honoree and named the League MVP during her junior season. She shattered the league scoring record, finishing with 66 goals over her four-year high school career. The previous record was 44. To add on, she led Salinas High School to the Section Playoffs all four years and won the League title three times.
Vega-Aguilar joins a Gaucho squad coming off their second consecutive Big West Championship Final appearance, while finishing with a 13-5-5 overall record. The 13 wins are the fourth most in a single season for program history.
