SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara men's basketball's
Aidan Mahaney has been signed by the Minnesota Timberwolves to a Summer League deal. He has been working out with the team and set to take part in the Las Vegas NBA 2K Summer League, July 9-19.
Mahaney, a First Team All-Big West performer this past season, joins Minnesota as the first stop of his professional career after appearing in all 32 games in his lone season with the Gauchos. Over his collegiate career, Mahaney scored over 1,500 points, grabbed over 250 rebounds and dished out over 275 assists. The Lafayette, California, native was a two-time NABC All-District Selection and earned All-American honors in 2023-24.
Mahi will look to impress the Timberwolves enough throughout Summer League play to earn a contract. He is the first Gaucho from the 2025-26 roster to join an NBA Franchise.
