LOS ANGELES – The UC Santa Barbara Women's Volleyball team will maintain their road play this weekend with three matches in Los Angeles County. The Gauchos will begin with a bout against Pepperdine on Friday evening before heading to No. 19 Southern California for the remaining matches.
The Gauchos will take on UC Davis at Galen Center on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 2 p.m., then return on Sunday at 2 p.m. to play host USC.
LAST TIME OUT
The Gauchos flew out to the Mountain West, where they grappled with Wyoming, South Dakota, and Colorado State. All three opponents triumphed, and the Gauchos look to improve their road record this weekend.
Gabi Martinez achieved double-doubles in two matches, while both Avery Gibbs and Reilly Goueth hit career-bests in multiple stats.
OPPONENT OPTICS
Pepperdine is 6-3 in 2026, with notable wins over Arizona and (RV) Villanova. The Gauchos faced the Waves at home in 2025 with a thrilling five-setter that Pepperdine narrowly clinched. Santa Barbara last won in 2023, when they beat the waves 3-2 in Malibu.
UC Davis eliminated UC Santa Barbara from the 2025 Big West Championship and proceeded on to the final match, where they lost to Cal Poly. Saturday's showdown will be a rematch
The Gauchos are 9-19 against USC all-time, with their last win happening in 1999. The Trojans are 4-3 for 2026 and 2-1 at home.
