SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara Women's Volleyball Team is opening conference play at home this weekend, taking on CSUN and Cal State Bakersfield to serve off the season.

The Gauchos will host the Matadors on Friday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. and the Roadrunners on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Gauchos played Pepperdine in Malibu and won the second set, but fell 3-1 to the Waves. Martinez scored a double-double and her all-time kill high of 21. Santa Barbara then fell 3-1 to UC Davis. Martinez took another double-double against, and Danica Rach made her first ten kills for the Gauchos. Santa Barbara then fell 3-0 to USC (11-25, 27-29, 23-25).

CSUN
The Gauchos are on a 15-match win streak against the Matadors. Santa Barbara beat CSUN three times in 2025, first at home 3-1 on 9/27/25. The Gauchos swept on 10/31 away, then again during the Big West Championships to knock CSUN out of the first round. The Gauchos' last loss was 1-3 away on 9/29/17.

CAL STATE BAKERSFIELD
The Gauchos have won the last three matchups and swept all of them. Santa Barbara is 8-2 in the last ten, with the last loss being 0-3 away on 9/27/24. The Gauchos are also 5-0 at home since 2016.
