Alan Williams was named First Team All-Big West for the third straight year, joining John Tschogl (1969-72) and Orlando Johnson (2009-12) as the only UCSB players to accomplish the feat...Williams was also named to the Big  West All-Tournament Team...Had 24 points and 15 rebounds in the Gauchos’ semifinal game at the tournament vs. UC Irvine...In the two games, he averaged 21.5 points and 12.0 rebounds...Finished the season averaging 17.3 points and 11.8 rebounds per game...Led the nation in rebound average for the second straight  year...In the regular season finale against Cal Poly, Williams had 26 points and 19 rebounds...The 19 rebounds he had against the Mustangs were one fewer than the season and career-high of 20 that he produced against Mercer on Nov. 28 at the Great Alaska Shootout...In the win over Mercer, he also had 22 points to go along with 20 rebounds and it was the second time in his career that Williams has had 20 or more points and 20 or more rebounds in the same game...Selected MVP of the Great Alaska Shootout...When he did so as a junior, he became the first Gaucho player in nearly 24 years to accomplish the feat...He has had 15 or more rebounds seven times, including four times in the last six games...In addition to scoring and rebounding, he led the team in steals with 31 and blocked shots with 47...He led the team in rebounds for four consecutive seasons, the first player in school history to do so...Scored 20 or more points eight times as a senior, including a season-high 29 on Nov. 17 at Florida Gulf Coast...Also had 16 rebounds against FGCU...His first double-double this season came in the season opener against Kansas when he had 22 points and 13 rebounds at Allen Fieldhouse...Williams is the first Gaucho ever to break the 1,000 rebound mark...Finished with 1,125 career rebounds, a school record and second in Big West history...Is one of just five players in league history with 1,000 or more points and 1,000 or more rebounds in his career...His 24 points in the Big West Tournament semifinal vs. UC Irvine made him the second Gaucho ever to eclipse 1,700 and he finished with 1,731, second all-time...Williams was named Big West Player of the Week three times as a senior and earned the honor a record 11 times in his career...Williams tied his career-high with four assists four times as a senio...Blocked a season-high seven shots on Dec. 11 vs. San Diego...In addition to First Team All-Big West Honors last season, Williams earned First Team Collegeinsider.com Mid-Major All-American, Second Team USBWA All-District and Second Team NABC All-District...With 218 career blocked shots Williams ranks second on UCSB’s all-time career list and second on the Big West Conference’s all-time career list...Played in the NABC All-Star Game in Indianapolis and finished with 13 points, six rebounds and four assists.

2013-2014
Williams followed-up his outstanding sophomore season when an even better junior season...Williams was named 2014 Big West Player of the Year, Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American, NABC First Team All-District, USBWA First Team All-Region, First Team All-Big West and CollegeInsider.com First Team Mid-Major All-American...Led all of NCAA Division I players in rebounding at 11.5 boards per game...In addition to winning the national and Big West rebounding titles, Williams paced the league and ranked 12th nationally in scoring at 21.3 points per game, a figure that also ranks as the third-highest in UCSB history...His 11.5 rebounds per game is the third highest average in school history...Williams was selected Big West Player of the Week a record six times as a junior and with eight honors in his career he is tied for the all-time mark...Tied Gaucho records for points in a game with 39 and blocked shots in a game with eight in a win over South Dakota State...Had 27 points and 20 rebounds in a win over UC Davis, becoming the first UCSB player  to produce a 20/20 game since January of 1990 and the first to do so in regulation since December of 1989...Williams had 16 double-doubles on the season, the most by a Gaucho in 24 years...Scored in double-figures in 27 of his 28 games...Scored 33 points and had 15 boards vs. Cal Poly...Had 20 or more points 18 times...Had some of his best games against UCSB's top opponents...Scored 24 points and had 12 rebounds in the program's first-ever win over Cal...Went for 21 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots in a Gaucho victory at UNLV...Added 23 points and eight rebounds at UCLA...Produced 11 games with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds...Has had 31 double-doubles in the last two seasons and 33 in his career...In the last two years, Williams has scored 20 or more points 28 times and had 10 or more rebounds 35 times...Blocked 67 shots as a junior, the third most in school history...In addition to his record-tying eight blocks against South Dakota State, Williams had five vs. Cal Poly, Hawai'i and Troy...He had two or more blocked shots 19 times...In his career, he has scored 1,283 points, the 12th most in UCSB history...Williams ranks third all-time in rebounds (817), third in rebound average (9.5 per game), fifth in scoring average (14.9 per game), third in blocked shots (172) and seventh in free throw attempts (481)...In addition to the honors he received during his junior season, Williams was a First Team All-Big West selection and a Second Team NABC All-District choice as a sophomore.

2012-2013
Williams had one of the best sophomore seasons in UCSB history...Became the first Gaucho player in 23 years to average a double-double at 17.1 points and a league-leading 10.7 rebounds per game...Also led the team with 64 blocked shots and 29 steals...Averaged 19.2 points and 11.5 rebounds in Big West games...Named First Team All-Big West and Second Team All-District following the season...Had 15 double-doubles on the season, also the most in 23 years...Scored a career-high 32 points, including 24 in the second half, and added 16 rebounds in a game at Cal State Northridge...Scored in double-figures 24 times in 28 games...Had 20 or more points 10 times...Had 29 points and a career-high 17 rebounds in an overtime win at Santa Clara...Also had 17 rebounds, along with 24 points, in a game at Cal Poly...Poured in 28 points at UC Davis...Had 24 points against San Diego Christian...Produced a pair of 22-point games against UC Irvine and one apiece at Pacific at Cal State Fullerton...Grabbed 10 or more rebounds on 18 occasions...Tied his career-high with five blocked shots against San Diego, UC Irvine, Sacramento State and UC Riverside...Had at least one blocked shot in 23 games and two or more 19 times...Missed four full games and more than half of two others with injuries to his knee and ankle...Was a two-time Big West Player of the Week.

2011-2012
Williams had a standout freshman season for UCSB...Averaged 6.9 points per game and led the team in rebounding at 6.5 per game and was second in blocked shots with 41...His 41 blocked shots were a Gaucho freshman record...Really emerged once Big West Conference play started...Came off the bench in his first nine appearances but started 19 of the team's final 20 games...In 16 league games, Williams averaged 9.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots...Scored in double-figures six times, all over the final 20 games of the season...Had a season-high 19 points, making 6-of-8 field goal attempts, in a win at Cal State Northridge...Made 7-of-8 shots and had 17 points vs. UC Davis...Scored 13 points in the Big West Tournament title game against Long Beach State...Produced double-doubles at Cal Poly (13 points, 10 rebounds) and at UC Davis (14 points, 12 rebounds)...Had five games with 10 or more rebounds including a season-high 13 against UC Irvine...Tied the school record for blocked shots in a game by a freshman with five each at UC Riverside and UC Davis...Had a five game stretch early in Big West play when he blocked 19 shots...Swatted two or more shots 11 times. 

High School 
Williams had a decorated prep career at North High School in Phoenix...Named Arizona State Player of the Year after his senior season...Also named Phoenix Area and Metro Region Player of the Year...A two-time all-state choice and All-Metro Region selection...Averaged 22.1 points, 16.2 rebounds and 4.5 blocked shots as a senior, leading North High School to a Metro Region championship and to the Class 5A quarterfinals...Scored a career-high 43 points against Central HS...Had 26 rebounds vs. Fairfax HS and 10 blocked shots vs. McClintock HS...Williams was part of two state title teams while at North...His squad also won four regional championships and made three state semifinal appearances...Averaged 12.5 points, 10.9 rebounds and 3.3 blocked shots per game while hitting 58% of his field goal attempts as a junior...Coached in high school by Joseph Bustos and Ray Arvizu.

Alan Travis Williams was born January 28, 1993 in Phoenix, Ariz...The son of Cody and Jeri Williams...Nicknamed Big Al...An honor roll student at North High School...His most memorable sports moment was when he helped lead North to its second straight state championship...Hobbies include going to the movies, video games and swimming...Speaks Spanish in addition to English...Favorite author is J.K. Rowling and, fittingly, the Harry Potter novels are also favorites...The Shawshank Redemption is his favorite movie...Roots for the New York Yankees, Boston Celtics and St. Louis Rams...Shaquille O'Neal is his favorite athlete...Plans to major in sociology and would like to become either a marketing manager or a sports broadcasting color analyst.
