John Green had his best offensive performance since returning from a six-game absence due to
a knee injury when he hit 8-of-9 field goal attempts and scored 19 points in just 18 minutes on Feb. 27 at Cal State Fullerton...Two of his eight baskets were from three-point range...The 18 points were his highest ouput since he had a career-high 22 in the season opener at Omaha... Scored 14 points while adding four rebounds and a pair of steals in the Feb. 18 win at UC Riverside...Had 12 points and six rebounds in the Feb. 11 win at UC Davis...Averaging 10.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game...Has played 11 games since returning from his knee injury... In his 11 games back, Green has averaged 10.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game...Had 16 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals while making a season-high three three-point baskets at Long Beach on Jan. 28...Also had 16 vs. Oregon State on Nov. 21...After starting the first eight games of the season he has come off the bench in his last 13 appearances...Ranks third on the team in scoring and second in rebounding...Had four or more rebounds in 16 of his 21 games...Has scored in double-figures 12 times...Green was outstanding in the Gauchos’ opener at Omaha going for career-highs with 22 points, 13 rebounds and three steals before fouling out...Also added two assists and a blocked shot...The double-double was the second of his career...Since starting the year 2-for-14 from three-point range, Green has gone 17-of-47, 36.2%...Had a career-high five assists on Nov. 29 at Arizona State.

After missing all but four games during his first three seasons at UCSB, John Green emerged as one of the Gauchos' best players as a junior...Was named Honorable Mention All-Big West...Played in all 33 games while starting 19, including the final 16...Averaged 11.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game...Ranked third on the team in scoring and rebounding...In the first game of Alan Williams' seven-game absence due to an injury, Green scored a career-high 21 points and nine rebounds as UCSB beat UCR, and in the second game he posted his first career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds...Averaged 6.5 rebounds while Williams was out...Had 18 points in games at Oregon, vs. Vermont and at Oral Roberts...Scored 15 or more points eight times and 10 or more 24 times...In his 18-point performance at Oral Roberts he made a career-high four three-point baskets in four attempts...Hit two or more three-pointers on seven occasions...After opening the year by hitting 1-of-11 three-point attempts, Green made 27 of his final 65, 41.5%...Despite the fact that UCSB played four overtime games in the first 17, he played 30 or more minutes just twice over that span...In the final 16 games, Green played 30 or more minutes nine times...Averaged 24.7 minutes per game for the season.
2013-2014
Green missed all but four games during his first three seasons with foot and wrist injuries...By the end of Spring Quarter at UCSB, he was healthy and if he is healthy, he will compete for playing time and could become one of the team's pivotal players...Played in the season-opener last year, scoring eight points vs. Hawai'i-Pacific, then he was out until February with a foot injury...Green came back and played in two games before breaking a bone in his wrist during practice, sidelining him for the remainder of the season...Came to UCSB out of Phoenix's Westwind Prep.

High School
Green is a talented, powerful and athletic wing who had a standout season at Phoenix's Westwind International Prep in 2010-11...Averaged 22 points and 8 rebounds per game...As a senior at Oakland's Castlemont High School, Green averaged 20 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals...As a junior, Green averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds per game...Was an All-Oakland Athletic League, All-Bay Area and All-Alameda County selection following the 2009-10 season...Helped Castlemont to the Oakland Athletic League championship in 2010...At Westwind Prep, he had 38 points and 10 rebounds in a game against the Arizona Legends, a semi-pro team...Also had 30 points and 11 rebounds vs. Bridgeton Prep and 26 points and 9 rebounds vs. the College of Southern Idaho...Played in the post as a high school player, but is expected to contribute at UCSB as a wing.
