PRIOR TO UC SANTA BARBARA: Played two seasons of basketball at Yuba College in Marysville, Calif. … appeared in all 29 games during his sophomore season … averaged six points and 4.1 rebounds per game … played in 26 of the team’s 29 games his freshman year … averaged 6.8 points per game while shooting at 53.8 percent … also averaged 4.4 rebounds per game.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Played basketball at Placer High School in the Foothill Valley League … received League MVP honors … named to the All-League and All-Metro teams … helped his team to the Foothill Valley League Championship … had the best game of his high school career against Lincoln High School, where he put up 30 points, 15 rebounds and eight blocks … overall, averaged 19 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 1.8 blocks per game … made it on the honors list … also was a member of the baseball team.
