Sam Beeler had eight points, two rebounds and two assists on Feb. 27 at Cal State Fullerton...For the first time this season he missed more than three shots as he went 4-for-9...The nine field goal attempts tied his career-high...It was also just the fourth time season that he didn’t make at least half of his field goal attempts and the first time in 13 games...Had four points, six rebounds and a season-high three blocked shots on Feb. 27 at CSUN...Had eight points, five rebounds, one assist and a steal in the Feb. 18 win at UC Riverside...Made 6-of-10 free throws vs. the Highlanders, setting a career-high for attempts and tying a career-high for made free throws...Since starting the year 4-for-28 from the free throw line, Beeler has made 11-of-16...Had 12 points, six rebounds and a steal in UCSB’s Feb. 11 win at UC Davis...Had two alley-oop slam dunks and a key tip-in against the Aggies...Also made six out of seven field goal attempts...Currently leads the Big West in field goal percentage at 71.9% a mark that would set a school record...Averaging 6.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game...Averaging 7.0 points and 5.2 rebounds in 14 league games while shooting 71.7% from the field...Made all six of his field goal attempts, scored 12 points, added four rebounds and two blocked shots on Jan. 23 vs. Cal State Northridge...In the last 16 games, he has hit 52 out of 69 field goal attempts, 75.3%...Career field goal percentage is 60.2% and that would be a school record if it holds...Set new career-highs with 17 points and 12 rebounds in the Jan. 14 win at Cal Poly...Also equaled his career-high with three blocked shots against the Mustangs...Beeler’s eight field goals and nine field goal attempts were also career-highs...The double-double at Cal Poly was his second of the season and career, his first coming vs. Oregon State on Nov. 21 when he had 12 points and 10 rebounds...Had 14 points on Jan. 2 vs. Point Loma....Has scored 10 or more points six times this season...The only Gaucho to have played in all 119 games since the 2012-13 season...This season, Beeler has already set career-highs for minutes played, points, rebounds and assists...Leads the team with 21 blocked shots.
2014-2015
Beeler played in all 33 games for the Gauchos as a junior, starting seven when Alan Williams was out...Averaged 2.0 points and 2.2 rebounds per game...Scored a season-high 11 points in a game at UC Irvine...Tallied nine points against San Diego Christian...In all, Beeler had four games of five or more points...Had a season-high six rebounds in back-to-back games against UC Irvine and Hawai'i...Averaged 9.0 minutes per game for the season and played 10 or more 13 times, all in the first 26 games of the year...Averaged just 4.3 minutes over the final seven games.
2013-2014
Beeler played in all 30 games as a sophomore, starting three...Averaged 2.8 points and 2.1 rebounds per game in an average of 10.9 minutes of action...Starting in place of an injured Alan Williams, Beeler had a season-high 14 against Utah State...His other double-figure scoring effort came when he was a perfect 4-for-4 from the field and had 10 points at Cal State Northridge...Collected a career-high seven rebounds at UNLV and UC Davis...Had three or more rebounds 14 times...Ranked third on the team with 21 blocked shots and had a career-high three in just 11 minutes vs. UC Davis...Beeler significantly improved his free throw shooting from his freshman season as he made 30-of-50, 60.0%, as opposed to 11-of-32, 34.4%, in his first season...Made exactly half of his shots, 27-of-54, and in his two seasons he is shooting 54.3% from the field.
2012-2013
Beeler played a key reserve role in his first season at UCSB...One of four players to play in all 31 games, he made three starts while Alan Williams recovered from an injury...Averaged 2.7 points and 2.1 rebounds per game while blocking 10 shots...In his three starts, he averaged 7.3 points and 4.0 rebounds while making 9-of-11 field goal attempts, 81.8%...Scored a career-high 15 points and had a career-highs of six rebounds and three blocked shots against Cal State Northridge...Also had six boards against Cal Poly...Shot 58.1% from the field, including 64.0% (32-for-50) over the final 25 games of the season...Averaged 10 minutes per game, but played 14 or more seven times.

Beeler attended Poway High School in Poway, Calif….As a senior year, Beeler averaged 18 points, 3 assists, 10 rebounds and 7 blocked shots…Had personal bests of 32 points and 15 rebounds vs Punaho HS his senior year…Had a career-high nine blocked shots vs. Ramona HS…Was a three-time First Team All-Palomar League choice…Along with teammate Dalante Dunklin, Beeler played in the San Diego County North-South All-Star Game…Holds school record for career blocked shots…Averaged 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocked shots as a junior and 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks as a sophomore…Helped his team to the second round of CIF section playoffs his freshman-junior years under the coach of Aaron Little.
