Luke Storey has been elevated as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Health, Wellness and Performance Initiatives ahead of the 2025-26 athletic season. This comes after spending roughly two years in the interim role. He joined the staff at UC Santa Barbara as their Director of Sports Performance in January 2020. Prior to this, he held the position of Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at the Orlando Magic in the NBA. In his first season with the Magic, the team was Southeast Division Champions and also made the Eastern Conference playoffs for the first time in seven years.

Before working in the NBA, Luke spent over five years at Peak Performance Project (P3), a sports performance facility that utilizes advanced sports science technologies to assess and train professional athletes from the NBA, MLB, NFL and NHL. Luke began at P3 as a Senior Performance Specialist and was later promoted to Director of Performance, where he was responsible for leading and supporting the performance teams across two different facilities, while also ensuring that all aspects of professional growth & development were being met.

Originally from London, England, Luke was a strength and conditioning coach in professional cricket, rugby and within the English Institute of Sport. He attended the University of Chichester, England, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science, as well as a Master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Physiology. Luke holds the CSCS certification with the NSCA, and the ASCC accreditation with the UKSCA.

Luke and his wife, Calais, have two children, Finley and Sienna.
