2014 Big West Fall All-Academic Team

2014: Was named to the Big West Fall All-Academic Team after the season ... Appeared in 14 games during his senior season, making three starts ... Operated mostly as a defensive midfielder with time at outside back ... Was booked for one yellow card ... Appeared in the team's first 14 games, then missed the final six due to a foot injury.

2013: Appeared in 19 games for the Gauchos, including all conference games, picking up 10 starts ... Saw time at midfield and outside back ... Entered each of the team's final 17 games ... Registered four shots on the year ... Contributed in each of the team's five shutouts.

2012: Picked up his game over the course of the year, appearing in five conference matches after being relegated to the bench for the team's first 10 games ... started two contests.

NATIONAL/CLUB
Has played for the Michigan Wolves, Derby County Wolves and the CSA Wolves Academy…Won the Great Lakes Division in 2010…Appeared in all Academy Showcases.

HIGH SCHOOL
Attended Ann Arbor Pioneer and graduated in 2012…The center midfielder was a four-year starter for the Pioneers…Captained the team, which won the District Championship, advanced to the Regional Finals and recorded a 16-2-4 record…Garnered First Team All-State honors…Was a member of Global Improvement Society.

Adam Carn-Saferstein was born on December 21, 1993 in Ann Arbor, Michigan…Parents are Dan Saferstein and Lisa Carn…Has an older sister, Carly, and a younger brother, Josh…Is majoring in economics at UCSB…When he is not playing soccer, he enjoys spending time with his friends…Can’t do without his iPod…Before a game he visualizes himself playing and helping the team win…Can be described as “hardworking” and “driven”…His most memorable sporting moment was winning District his senior year…Would love to play on the same pitch as Iniesta and Xavi…Cheers for Barcelona…Favorite athlete is Andres Iniesta…Enjoys watching the film “The Departed” and “Family Guy”…Favorite book is “Into Thin Air” by Jon Krakauer.
