Played four years at Boulder High School and was a member of FC Boulder for club soccer ... In 2013, he was the state and conference player of the year after scoring 17 goals in 18 games ... He added 13 assists that season, breaking a school record ... Was the Boulder High Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year, Offensive MVP, and team captain in his junior season ... Boulder won the 5A state championship in his sophomore season, reached the semifinals in 2013, and finished runner-up in 2014 ... He was also Outstanding Male Athlete and Offensive MVP as a sophomore in 2012 ... Made All-Conference as a freshman in 2011 ... Also competed in track, where he was a state qualifier in the 400m dash with a time of 49.3.

Has three older siblings – Janaki, Devaki, Austin – and two younger siblings – Jensen and Gigi ... Plans on majoring in psychology ... Aspires to work with children in youth sports with an emphasis on bringing fun back into the game and minimizing external pressure from coaches and parents ... When not playing soccer, he is researching animal populations and keeping up with his favorite foundation "Black Jaguar-White Tiger" in Mexico ...
