Marc Vartabedian is in his firstseason as Marty Davis' assistant coach on the UCSB men's tennisstaff.

Vartabedian joins the Gauchos after spending one season as anassistant coach at Washington & Lee University in Virginia.

A standout doubles player,Vartabedian currently holds an ATP Tour World doubles ranking. As a collegiate player at UC Santa Cruz, he won the NCAADivision 3 doubles title in 2010 and helped lead the Banana Slugsto a pair of Division 3 National Championships.

Vartabedian earned his BA ineconomics from UCSC and during his time at the school he wasrecognized as both a CoSIDA Academic All-American and an athleticAll-American
