AWPCA All-America 3rd Team selection … Named to GCC All-Conference First Team … Earned first career GCC Player of the Week Award on September 12 … Finished fifth in the conference with 199 saves … Had the third-lowest goals-against average in the GCC … Played in 20 games, starting 15 … recorded 30 steals, the second-most on the team and the fifth-most in the conference … Tallied 10 assists, 10 saves, and five steals against USC on September 15 … Also recorded 10 stops against No. 6 Pepperdine (September 18), No. 5 USC (October 6) … Made a season-high 13 saves to help the Gauchos defeat No. 8 Cal on October 27.

Earned an AWPCA All-America Honorable Mention as a freshman at UCLA before transferring to UC Santa Barbara.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB
Roland earned three varsity letters at Sir Francis Drake high school...Protected the cage for coach Matt Swanson and the Pirates, averaging 10.6 saves per game and 266 total in his sophomore year...Earned First Team All-League honors each three years and won best goalie at Iron Man in 2015 (16u) and 2018 (18u)...Second Team California/Hawaii All-American in 2017 as well as First Team NISCA/Speedo Water Polo Alll-American 2017...Most memorable moment came during his freshman year against Los Lomas in the Quarterfinals of the NCS...Roland helped lead his team League titles all three years and in 2017 won NCS and the Nor-Cal high school tournament...Also competed in Basketball and Volleyball, winning MVP of the team in each.

Daniel "Danny" Patrick Roland was born on February 26, 2000 in Marin County, Calif. to parents Linda and William...Grew up in San Rafael with his brothers Michael and Ryan...Hasn't yet decided on a major at UCSB but wants to pursue a career as an insurance broker...Roots for the Golden State Warriors and Steph Curry is his favorite athlete...Danny loves cooking food, biking, and wakeboarding in his down time and chooses Family Guy to watch over other shows...Also likes the movie Paul Blart: Mall Cop and the documentary Travis Scott: Look Mom I can fly...Favorite artists are Illenium and Kygo.
