Cortez was second on the geam in goals, despite having her season cut short by injuries...Played in and started 14 contests...Scored three goals and assisted on a fourth for seven total points...Had her goals against San Francisco, UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton...Her goal against USF was the game-winner...Produced 16 shots, 11 on-frame.

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB
Cortez attended Edison High School in Huntington Beach, Calif....Played for Kerry Crooks...She was selected the program's Offensive Most Valuable Player following her sophomore and junior seasons...Also chosen the Sunset League Offensive Player of the Year following her junior campaign...A First Team All-Sunset League selection and a Third Team All-CIF choice as a junior and senior...Helped lead Edison to consecutive Sunset League championships...Cortez paced Edison in assists three straight years and ranked second in goals as a junior...Played for Slammers FC...Helped lead her club to the U17 Surf Cup championship, the U16 Surf Cup finals and the U14 Nike Manchester United finals.
