Maddie Julian did not compete during the 2016 season and was credited with a redshirt year. In her first three seasons with the Golden Bears, she saw action in three matches for a total of 142 minutes, allowing one goal and posting a 0.63 goals against average. As a freshman in 2013, Julian played all 90 minutes in a shutout of Washington, making four saves in a crucial 1-0 win for Cal.

Maddie Julian enjoys reading, listening to music, going to concerts, wakeboarding, boating…Suffered two broken arms (2007 & 2008) as a result of soccer…Had surgery to install 2 plates and 12 screws, and then surgery to remove the hardware in 2010…Parents are Hank and Ann Julian...Has one brother...Roots for the San Jose Sharks and Golden State Warriors...Favorite movies include Happy Gilmore, The Matrix, Step Brothers, Spaceballs, The Notebook, Crazy Stupid Love and Ferris Bueller's Day Off...Her most memorable sports moment was witnessing Francesco Totti's final career game for Roma during the summer of 2017...Favorite TV shows include Suits, Dexter, House of Cards and The Bachelorette...Favorite athletes include Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Tim Howard, Lionel Messi, Evgeni Nabokov and Joe Thornton...Is in graduate school and is working on her MS in environmental science and management...Would like to work on the U.S. transitioning away from follil fuels and to renewable energy.
