CLUB/HIGH SCHOOL: Shaffer comes to UCSB from Davis, Calif., having played club soccer for Davis Legacy Soccer Club in the NorCal National Premier League (NPL) and Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) under coach David Robertson...Played at right back, center back, defensive midfielder, and attacking midfielder for her club team, mainly starting in the defensive midfield position...With her, Davis Legacy was the SURF Cup Super Black Champions three years in a row from 2016-18, while earning a State Cup championship in 2016, and becoming finalists at the ECNL National Championships in 2018...The 5' 5" midfielder also played for Davis Senior High School (DSHS) in the Delta League and CIF San Joaquin Section (SJS) under Head Coach Sara Stone. There, she played outside back and attacking and defensive midfielder. She started every game of her high school career, scoring 10 goals and assisting 15. Shaffer earned All-League honors in her junior season, and in the 2018-19 season, her final campaign, she served as her team's Senior Captain...With her, DSHS were winners of the Delta League three consecutive seasons from 2016-18 and won the SJS title in 2016/17 and 2017/18. They went undefeated for 996 days, carrying a 71-game unbeaten streak from May 2015 to March 2018. She was part of a defense that only allowed 28 goals and an offense that scored 398.
