The UC Santa Barbara Women’s Volleyball team will welcome volunteer assistant Alec Straw to the staff, who will begin his first season with the program in Fall 2024.
Straw has been coaching volleyball for the last four years in the Midwest, most recently taking on the role as head coach for the 17 Black team at Iowa Select Volleyball Club and was the varsity head coach for Durant High School this past fall. He also had a stint with Moline High School as the varsity assistant coach. Prior to his coaching career, Straw was a member of the men’s volleyball team at Augustana College, where he played as a pin hitter and defensive specialist.
Straw earned a bachelor's degree in business management from Augustana College in May 2024.
