HIGH SCHOOL
Played for three seasons under coach Tommy Chaffins at Redondo Union High School…As a senior, she was named Third Team AVCA All-America and to MaxPreps.com's Top 125 Senior Ace list…That same year, she was also the Redondo Union Power Classic All-Tournament co-MVP, a SoCal Prep Legends Athlete of the Week, and was named All-Tournament at the Ann Kang Invitational… In her career, she led the Sea Hawks to three straight league titles and back-to-back appearances in the CIF-SS Finals…As a senior, she led to the Div. I Championship after finishing with 244 kills with a .362 hitting percentage, averaging 4.9 kills per set….In one of her best performances, she came through with 26 kills in a three-game sweep of her school's rival Mira Costa… In the postseason, Rice led the Sea Hawks with 32 kills and six blocks in a four-set win over Torrey Pines in the regional semifinals….As a junior, she was named First Team All-Bay League and received her team’s most improved player award…She led her team to a CIF Fourthern Section Div. 1AA Championship, the CIF Southern Region Division I Championship, and CIF Division 1 State Championship…She received First Team All-League status as a sophomore and won the most improved player award for the first time…That season, she came through in big matches, as she tallied 14 kills and 11 digs in a four-set win over Mater Dei in the CIF-Southern Section Div. IAA Championship.

Competed at the West Volleyball Club from 15u-17u and at Surfside Volleyball Club for 14u…At West, her teams appeared in the Junior National Championships Open Division in all three years…Earned Dailypreptalk.com First Team honors in 2014 and 2013…In 2015, her team finished second at the Reno Far Western Qualifier, improving on their third place finish from the year before…In 2013, her team placed fifth at the Dallas Lone Star Qualifier…Rice also competed at the Zuma Beach Volleyball Club in 2015 with the 17u team…With Zuma, she finished second at the AAU Winter Beach Tournament.

Megan Jane Rice was born July 4, 1998 in Torrance, Calif. to parents Lisa and Jeff…Has an older brother named Nathan and a younger brother named Logan…Roots for the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers…Her favorite athletes are Destiny Hooker and Kerry Walsh…Most memorable sports moment was winning back to back state championships in high school…Enjoys reading the Hunger Games novels…In her free time, she likes to play beach volleyball…Favorite TV show is NCIS…Also recruited by San Diego, Loyola Marymount, and UC Davis…Majoring in communication and wants to pursue a career in commercial real estate.
