In 19 games as a defender, Mortimer gathered 9 steals with 1 field block and drew 5 ejections… Mortimer was named Spring Big West Academic All-Conference team and earned a 2017 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-Academic Award for superior achievement in the classroom.

HIGH SCHOOL
Played for three seasons at Corona Del Mar High School under coaches Ross Sinclair and Sam Bailey… Led her team to four consecutive league championships…As a senior, finished with 37 goals, 25 assists. 20 steals, and 21 field blocks, leading her team to the quarterfinal round of the CIF playoffs… With those numbers, she was named Third Team All-CIF Division I, Second Team All-Pacific Coast League, and a Daily Pilot Dream Team Athlete… Was named the Daily Pilot High School Athlete of the Week on Dec. 28, 2013… Was also the Sea Kings’ captain as a senior… One of her most memorable games was in a 7-5 upset win over rival Newport Harbor, a game that is nicknamed the Battle of the Bay; in that contest, she scored two goals from the perimeter and shut down the Sailors at center… As a junior, she led her team to a CIF Division I Championship… As a sophomore, she led the Sea Kings to the Cal State High School Championship and to their second consecutive berth into the semifinal round of the CIF playoffs… Was named a Scholar Athlete with Honors in each of her four years… Was apart of the CDM Academic Team Challenge… Earned two Corona Del Mar Academic Letters (2013, 2014).

Competed with Corona Del Mar Aquatic under coaches Ross Sinclair and Sam Bailey… Her high school team competes as a club during the simmer… Appeared in all Junior Olympic teams.
PERSONAL
Annie Dolan Mortimer was born on May 30, 1996 in San Diego, Calif. to parents Carole and Patrick… Has a younger sister named Megan… Started playing water polo at age 13… Originally committed to Michigan, but later transferred before the start of her first season… Also competed in swimming during her high school years… Favorite sports moment is winning the CIF Division I Championship… Roots for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim… Favorite athletes are Kobe Bryant and Carli Lloyd… Favorite movies include Shawshank Redemption and Lords of Dogtown… Enjoys watching Friday Night Lights, American Horror Story, and Criminal Minds… Listens to The Kooks, The Growlers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Odesza… Favorite after practice snack is Backyard Bowls…Favorite aspect of UCSB is being so close to the beach and being able to watch the sunset at Sands Beach with her teammates… Majoring in global studies with a minor in professional writing… Is interested in attending law school.
