The Gauchos opened the tournament inching past No. 10 Hartwick. With the score tied 14 to 14 at the end of regulation, the Gauchos rallied for two overtime periods. Claire Buchanan and Christie Clark each chipped in a goal during overtime play, leading the Gauchos to a 16-15 victory.
In their second tournament game, UC Santa Barbara defeated UC Davis 8-6. Gillian Morgan led the Gauchos with 4 goals.
The Gauchos will face conference opponent, No.6 San Diego State University, in their first game tomorrow, Sunday February 10th. If the Gauchos win they will match-up against either No. 12 Loyola Marymount University or No. 9 U C Irvine for 1st place.
