Box Score RIVERSIDE, Calif.—The UC Santa Barbara Women's Volleyball Team went on the road to pick up its seventh straight win Friday night sweeping UC Riverside. The Gauchos are now a perfect 7-0 in conference play.
ON THE STAT SHEET
- UCSB held UCR to a .118 hitting percentage and outkilled the team 48 to 29
- Michelle Ohwobete led the Gauchos with 11 kills swinging a .333 clip
- Mehana Ma'a led all players with 21 assists and Grace Kloss added 19
- Macall Peed led the way once again with 14 digs and was errorless on 20 reception attempts
- Rowan Ennis had a 9-1-15 line for a .533 hitting percentage to go with a match-high four blocks
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set (25-20 UCSB)
- UCSB held the host Highlanders to a .122 hitting percentage in the opening set forcing seven attack errors
- There were zero lead changes with the Gauchos leading by as much six early on
- UCSB converted on 71% of its sideout opportunities and capped off the frame with back-to-back kills from Abrielle Bross and Michelle Ohwobete
Second Set (25-19 UCSB)
- The Gauchos swung a match-high .517 in the second set led by Ennis who went a perfect 5-0-5
- After falling behind early UCR clawed its way back to tie it at 14-14, but then the Gauchos turned it on finishing the set on an 11-5 run
- Peed fueled the run at the service line guiding UCSB to seven straight points down the stretch
Third Set (25-17 UCSB)
- Once again, the Gaucho defense was immaculate holding the Highlanders to a .000 hitting percentage
- UCSB spread the love offensively with five different players notching multiple kills
- The Gauchos led by as much as nine points closing out the match on a 5-0 run capped off by a block from Ennis and Tallulah Froley

UCSB will now take its 7-0 start all the way north to UC Davis for a noon-match this Saturday.
