TEMPE, Ariz. – The UC Santa Barbara men's tennis team suffered a 4-1 loss to Arizona State, who is hosting an Eight-Team Tournament this weekend at the Kiwanis Tennis Center. The loss is the Gauchos' (6-4) third loss in their last four matches.
How it Happened
- The duo of Phillip Jordan and Kai Brady started things on the right foot for Santa Barbara with a 6-3 win in number one doubles
- The Sun Devils, however, were victorious on courts two and three, winning 6-2 and 6-3, respectively and taking the doubles point
- ASU's Jacob Bullard was the first to earn a point in the singles portion, defeating Stefano Tsorotiotis 6-1, 7-6(4) on court three. Moritz Hoffmann made it 3-0 for the Sun Devils with a 6-3, 6-3 win over the Gauchos' Jonathan Zhang on court six
- Kai Brady was able to earn a point for Santa Barbara with a 6-4, 7-5 win on court five over George Stoupe, making it 3-1 overall
- Arizona State wrapped things up as Jonah Wilson prevailed 6-3, 7-6(7) over Gianluca Brunkow, earning the clinching point for the Sun Devils
