HONOLULU, Hawaii – The No. 17 UC Santa Barbara women's water polo team hung close after a tightly contested first quarter, but No. 5 Hawaii would score 10 straight goals down the stretch to take a 16-5 home win over the Gauchos.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Rainbow Wahine (12-5, 3-0) struck first, but goals from Claire Kelly and Juju Amaral would bring UCSB (11-9, 1-2) level at 2-2 with 3:25 to go in the first quarter.
- Hawaii scored again to take a 3-2 lead into the second.
- Sarah Owens provided UCSB's only goal of the second quarter to make it a 4-3 game in favor of the 'Bows.
- From there, Hawaii would reel off 10 unanswered goals, taking a 14-3 lead early in the fourth quarter.
- Leigh Lyter and Nina Munson gave UCSB its final scores of the day in the final frame.
- Redshirt junior goalkeeper Madison Button (6-3) had eight saves defending the cage for UCSB.
