SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (Aug. 11, 2023) – The UC Santa Barbara Men's and Women's Soccer teams will kick off the 2023 season with two matches this weekend. The women's soccer team will open play with an exhibition on Saturday, Aug. 12 at 7 p.m. against California Baptist while the men's team will host a scrimmage on Sunday, Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. against Loyola Marymount.
 
The women's soccer match will run as usual with the Gauchos and Lancers playing two 45-minute halves with the potential to play another 30 minutes following those periods. The event will be streamed on ESPN+ and live stats will be available through ucsbgauchos.com. However, any additional periods following the two 45-minute halves will not be broadcast or have live stats.

The men's soccer scrimmage on Sunday will be open and free to attend, though parking passes are still required at all times on UC Santa Barbara's campus. The match itself will run as normal, with the Gauchos and Lions playing two 45-minute halves. However, Sunday's match will not be broadcast, and live stats will not be available.
 
The UC Santa Barbara Women's and Men's Soccer teams begin regular-season competition on August 17 and 25, respectively, both at Harder Stadium. The women's team will host Loyola Marymount in their season opener next Thursday, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. The men's team hosts Oral Roberts in their regular-season opener on August 25, kicking off at 7 p.m.
