SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (Sept. 20, 2023) - Camille Kiss and Amelia Honer of the UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis team are set to open the 2023 fall schedule on Thursday, Sept. 21 in the Battle in the Bay Tournament.

This weekend's event will feature many of the top teams and individuals from across the nation with 20 teams represented at one of the premier tennis venues in the Bay Area. The 2023 tournament marks the 14th annual competition for the Battle in the Bay. 

Honer is coming off an impressive 2023 spring season that saw her earn Big West Player of the Week six times en route to being named Big West Player of the Year. She also earned an automatic qualifying position in the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships. Honer finished the spring season with a 16-1 overall record and a 9-0 Big West record in singles competition. She was equally as impressive in doubles play posting a 13-3 overall record and 8-0 record in The Big West with her partner, Kira Reuter.

Camille Kiss returns for her senior season after another consistent 2023 spring season. Kiss, a 2023 First Team All-Big West selection, went 11-3 overall and 8-1 in the Big West during singles competition. In doubles, she and her partner Marta Gonzalez Ballbe went 7-8 overall but went 6-3 in Big West action to help the Gauchos to a 6-3 record in The Big West.

Following the Battle in the Bay Tournament, the Gauchos will compete in the Cal Invite hosted by Cal.
