LONG BEACH, Calif. - Four swimmers from UC Santa Barbara participated in the MPSF Open Water Championships. The Gauchos saw three male swimmers compete in the 5K. Enya Linson was the lone representative for the women's team in the same event.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Kyle Brill placed fifth in the event among 20 swimmers with his time of 1:01:28.00. Connor Martilla was right behind him in sixth (1:03:07.00). Owen Berry rounded out the Blue and Gold in tenth place at a speed of 1:06:13.00.

The women's 5K boasted 45 total swimmers. Enya Linson captured eighth place (1:08:35.00) in the packed field.Â

"The MPSF Open Water Championships provided Enya, Kyle, Connor, and Owen with a great opportunity to experience a different kind of racing and competition," said Rosen. "The conditions were ideal, and although there were some scrappy moments, everyone swam fast and stayed competitive in the top packs."

UC Santa Barbara Swim takes a short hiatus from the pool until Nov. 16. The men will face UC San Diego while the women take on Pepperdine and the Tritons. Both the men and women will travel to Malibu, Calif.
