SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Head coach
Paul Stumpf announced today that the UC Santa Barbara Women's Soccer team has signed five players to start their 2025 recruiting class.
McKenna Cooper, Natalie Sheffey, Avery Standish, Hailey Tyacke and Reese Wroblewski will all join the Blue and Gold for the 2025 fall season.
Cooper, a standout Manhattan Beach, California player, won two Bay League Championships in her four-year career at Mira Costa High School. She was named Co-Captain of the team all four years, a four-time Cal South PRO+ Olympic Development Program alternate selection and a PDP Los Angeles Regional Team selection. Additionally, she ranked 34th in Southern California according to Top. Drawer Soccer and won the ECNL National Championship in 2024 with her club team. Cooper chose Santa Barbara over the University of Washington, Pepperdine and Santa Clara.
Sheffey, another Mira Costa High School product, joins the Blue and Gold as a 2017 South Texas Olympic Development Program selection while also attending the U14 and U16 United States Youth National Team Camp. Additionally, she won the ECNL North American Cup Championship with her club program. Off the field, she has earned Honor Roll distinction all four years.
Standish, sister of current men's soccer player Kaden Standish, joins the Gauchos from Danville, California. The Monte Vista High School product was an All-Conference First Team selection and was invited to the National Selection Game and Youth National Team training. The four-year varsity player was elected head of the Leadership Committee, earned Scholar-Athlete and Honor Roll distinction and earned the Pledge to Humanity and California Scholarship Federation awards. The incoming first-year player chose UC Santa Barbara over the University of Utah.
Tyacke, who hails from Alamo, California, comes to the Gauchos after finishing her career at San Ramon Valley High School. The Scholar-Athlete was a two-time Wolfpack Award winner and earned the Renaissance Award along with earning the Student-Athlete award and San Ramon Valley. Tyacke chose the Gauchos over Idaho, UIC and Pepperdine.
Rounding out the 2025 class is Redondo Beach native Reese Wroblewski. The 2022 CIF SoCal Regional and State Champion is ranked as the No. 6 defender in California, according to Prep Soccer. The two-time Bay League champion is also ranked 42nd regionally by Top Drawer Soccer. The Redondo Union High School produce picked UC Santa Barbara over Illinois, Loyola-Chicago, Baylor, San Diego and the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss).
