HOW IT HAPPENED
Kyle Brill continues his run of IM victories. The senior scored the 400-yarder with a time of 3:50.08 (ninth all-time). Austin Sparrow's senior season has been eventful too. He added to his trophy case tonight in the 200-yard freestyle (1:34.75). This gives the Menlo Park native the second best time in program history. He also swam in the fourth position for the winning 800-yard freestyle relay team (6:31.07) alongside Owen Berry, Jude DiStefano, and Mason Wendler for Santa Barbara's final victory of the night. Matt Driscoll took second in the 100-yard backstroke with his time of 46.79, the second fastest by any Gaucho ever.
Kristin Bartlett, Ashley Ray, Makena Leacox, and Miranda Stevenson combined for a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay (1:40.10). Samantha Banos's third-place time in the 100-yard butterfly (54.18) puts her seventh in UC Santa Barbara's record book.
