SANTA BARBARA, Calif - The UC Santa Barbara Softball team announced their 2025 schedule set to start in February.  Head Coach Jo Evans enters her third season at the helm of the program. The Gauchos will play a 51-game slate including nine Big West matchups and facing four non-conference opponents with NCAA Tournament appearances in the 2024 season.
 
The Gauchos will start their season on Feb. 7 at the New Mexico State Invitational facing both N.M. State and Colorado State twice across the two-day tournament. The Gauchos head to their second Conference USA opponent of the season, UTEP, the following day rounding out their first road trip with a doubleheader in El Paso, Texas. 
 
The following weekend sends the Blue and Gold up to the Fresno State Tournament. The Gauchos will face the Bulldogs as well as LMU and Utah from Feb. 14-16. 
 
The Gauchos head to Palm Springs, California for the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, their last February tournament. Starting Feb. 21, Santa Barbara will face BYU and Oregon State. The Gauchos will look to redeem a win after going 0-1 against BYU last season.
 
The following day sees action with 2024 Mountain West Champion San Diego State and Washington, both of which made the NCAA Regional Tournament in 2024, before capping off the weekend on Feb. 23 with a matchup against San Jose State. 
 
Fans can catch the Gauchos at the Campus Diamond for the first time in the spring with their home opener and a doubleheader against St. Mary's on Feb. 27. 
 
UNLV and Creighton will come to town to kick off March where the Gauchos will face each team twice across February 28, March 1 and 2. The Gauchos went 2-0 against UNLV in their 2024 season matchups. 
 
Big West play begins at Campus Diamond for Santa Barbara on March 8 and 9 hosting a three-game series against UC Riverside. 
 
The Gauchos will travel to Big West opponents Cal State Fullerton on March 15-16 and Cal State Bakersfield on March 22-23, each for a three-game series. 
 
As March wraps up the Gauchos return hom to host Santa Clara on March 26 in a mid-week doubleheader. The doubleheader will be the last non-conference matchup of the season as the Gauchos look to add to their 43-8 all-time record against the Broncos. 
 
Cal Poly comes to town on March 29 and 30 for the two-day rivalry series to finish out the month. Santa Barbara kicks off April with a visit to UC San Diego on April 4 and 5 followed by a return home on April 12 to face Long Beach State. The Blue and Gold welcome back program alums on the final day of the Long Beach State series, April 13, for Alumni Day. 
 
The Gauchos will head across the Pacific to spend two days in Honolulu facing the Rainbow Wahine in a three-game series with Hawai'i on April 18 and 19.
 
UC Davis will visit the Campus Diamond for Santa Barbara's last home series of the regular season from April 26-27, with Senior Day on April 27. The Gauchos hit the road for their last Big West matchup against CSUN May 2-3.
