SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — The UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis team kicked off their weekend of home matches on Friday morning with a victory over Kansas University. The Gauchos clinched an intense match against the Jayhawks, 4-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
As singles play commenced, Camille Kiss and Amelia Honer put the Gauchos in a 2-1 lead, winning in straight sets on courts one and two. After Kansas picked up the point on court three, Carla Pacot impressed with yet another dominant 6-3, 6-1 win. Lucy Lu made a valiant effort on court five, winning the first set, but ultimately dropping the last two.

Knotted up at three points a side, it all came down to doubles play. Amelia Honer and Kira Reuter made quick work of their opponents on court one. Unfortunately, Tyra Richardson and Carla Pacot were unable to overcome the Jayhawks on court three, tying things off yet again. Camille Kiss and Lucy Lu triumphed on court two, winning 7-5, to clinch the doubles point and secure the overall victory for the Gauchos.
