St.George. Utah: The MPSF Championships have officially come to an end. After four days of exhilarating races and Gaucho successes, both the men's and women's teams have earned second place overall, the men with 667.50 total points and the women with a collective 606 points.
Today's finals provided the Gauchos with one last opportunity to showcase their strength and determination, and they certainly rose to the occasion without disappointment. Sophomore Hazel Derr was the first to bring in a win, taking third place in the women's 200 backstroke with a time of 1:57.68. Matt Driscoll quickly followed suit, clinching third place in the men's 200 back in 1:43.67. Samantha Banos demonstrated her ability with a superb performance in the 200 butterfly, claiming second place with a time of 1:59.17. Bryden Thielenhaus showcased his talent in the same event, securing a commendable third place with a swift time of 1:47.11. Meanwhile, Corban McIntosh emerged triumphant in the fiercely contested 200 breaststroke, seizing first place in 1:56.32, demonstrating both skill and determination.
