SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — The UC Santa Barbara women's tennis team battled both the weather and the Rainbow Wahine on Friday to defeat the Big West rival 6-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC Santa Barbara started off the match with a strong performance in doubles. Duo Amelia Honor and Kira Reuter secured a swift 6-2 win on court one. Despite Hawaii's victory on court two, Anna Weissheim and Tyra Richardson fought back to clinch the point with a solid 6-3 win in the third position.

In singles play, Lucy Lu and Tyra Richardson extended the Gaucho lead to 3-0 with their straight-set victories on courts five and four. Although Hawaii's Nikola Homolkova managed to secure a win against Kira Reuter, it was the Rainbow Wahine's only triumph of the day. Carla Pacot and No. 48 ranked player Amelia Honor also delivered straight-set victories, sealing the match for UCSB. Camille Kiss rounded off the day with a resilient performance, taking her match despite dropping the second set.
