UC Santa Barbara Men's Basketball has four alumni playing in the NBA Summer League this year.

LAS VEGAS – Four UC Santa Barbara Men's Basketball alumni will compete in the NBA Summer League this year. That list includes Ajay Mitchell, Josh Pierre-Louis, Miles Norris and Jay Nagle.

Mitchell is the most recent Gaucho to get drafted as he was the 38th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. That landed Mitchell with the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he signed a two-way contract that will give him the chance to play in Las Vegas this summer. He finished his collegiate career in the Top 10 in the UC Santa Barbara record book in points with 1,463. He also was the 2022-23 Big West Player of the Year and was a two-time All-Big West First Team selection.

Another Gaucho from the most recent team is Pierre Louis. He signed a contract to compete with the Utah Jazz during the NBA Summer League this year. The guard finished out his career as a Gaucho with 1,017 points while 148 steals. He is known for his athleticism and his dunks as he competed in the Kings Hawaiian Slam Dunk Championships.

Norris graduated in 2023 after helping the Gauchos to their second NCAA Tournament appearance in three seasons, signing a two-way contract with the Atlanta Hawks in July 2023. He finished his first season with the Hawks' G-League team, the College Park Skyhawks. He started in 29 games for the Skyhawks during the 2023-24 season, averaging 11.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.

Nagle is the final Gaucho fans will get to watch during the NBA Summer League as he will play for the Sacramento Kings. He most recently was playing overseas for Tkibuli Orbi in the Georgia Superleague. He appeared in 23 games during the 2023-24 season, registering 406 points while shooting at 49.6 percent from the field. He also led the team in boards, grabbing an average of 7.7 per game.
