Santa Barbara, Calif. - The Gauchos wrapped up sessions two and three at the UC San Diego Invitational. After the third session of the invitational, the Men's team placed fourth and the Women's team finished in fifth.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Day two in San Diego was highlighted by the Men's 200-yard breaststroke, where the Gauchos took three top-five finishes. Jack Nugent (2:01.94), Michael Peterson (2:02.96), and Connor Martilla (2:03.72). Elek Zettle placed fourth individually in the Men's 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:38.54. Ashley Ray finished fourth individually as well in the Women's 100-yard breaststroke.
The Women's 200 Yard Free Relay team, made up of Caitlin Brown, Ashley Ray, Samantha Banos, and Eugenie Lanilis, took sixth place. The Men's relay consisted of Zachary Tamusaitis, Bryden Thielenhaus, Mason Wendler, and Elek Zettle placed eighth in the 200 free relay.

The Blue and Gold will travel back into town this week as the Gauchos prepare to send a group of swimmers to Long Beach, California, for the MPSF Open Water Championships next week.
