SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – At the conclusion of indoors, the UC Santa Barbara Women's and Men's Track & Field teams have finalized their meet schedule for the 2025 Outdoor Track & Field season. The schedule features 14 regular season meets, 13 of which will occur in California from early March to early May, including four home meets in Santa Barbara. The Director of Cross Country and Track & Field, Vijay Saxena, will be entering his first complete outdoor track season for the Gauchos.
Santa Barbara will start off their season with two meets on their home track, consisting of the Gaucho Relays, a one-day event taking place on March 1, and the Sam Adams Multi, a two-day meet on March 5 and 6.
For the remainder of March, the Gauchos will compete in three meets, one of which occur out-of-state. The Long Beach Opener will commence in Long Beach, Calif. on March 7 and 8. On the next weekend, the Gauchos will compete in the Challenge Cup in Irvine, followed by an eleven-day break heading into Texas Relays in Austin, Tex. The four-day meet will begin on March 26.
The Gauchos will then compete in three separate meets on the first weekend of April, consisting of the Stanford Invite, Triton Invite, and the Mike Fanelli Distance Carnival hosted by San Francisco State. Each meet will start on April 4 and hold two days of competition.
UC Santa Barbara will have back-to-back meets less than a week later as they will compete in both the Bryan Clay Multi hosted by Azusa Pacific on Apr. 10 and 11 as well as the UCSB Open at home on Apr. 12.
The Gauchos will return to Azusa for the Bryan Clay Invite on April 17 and Santa Barbara will also compete in Mount Sac Relays on April 18, hosted by Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif.
The last two meets before the beginning of the postseason will consist of the Gauchos last home meet and a trip to Southern California. The UCSB Invite will commence on April 26 in Santa Barbara, followed by a return to Irvine for the Vince O'Boyle Classic a week later on May 2.
UC Santa Barbara's postseason begins on May 8 with the Big West Multi in Long Beach, Calif. A week later, the Big West Conference Championships will also take place in Long Beach on May 15.
Santa Barbara has the chance to participate in NCAA Outdoor Regionals and NCAA Championships based on their performance through the postseason. Regionals will be held in College Station, Tex. on May 27 and will end on June 1. The NCAA Championships take place on June 10 through June 14 in Eugene, Ore.
