PALM DESERT, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara Men's Golf team wrapped up their time at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate with a 10th place finish. Nick Waldock had a solid three days and was the only Gaucho under par for the tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Nick Waldock led the Gauchos day one, after firing a two-under, 70. After a bogey on his first hold he proceeded to make three birdies over his next five holes. After two birdies through his first four holes on the back nine, Waldock finished the back nine at even par.
On day two, UC Santa Barbara improved their score by seven strokes. Day two saw three Gauchos shoot even par or better in Jack Watters (-2), Nick Waldock (-1) and Jackson Turner (E). Jack Watters begin his day with bogey but went on a run with three birdies over his next five holes. Jackson Turner had a back and forth day earning his even par round. Turner recorded a hole in one on the par 3 12th hole, before recording a bogey and birdie over his next two holes.
Day three saw Dylan Ma as the only Gaucho to record an under par round. The freshman shot a 71 with four birdies. The Gauchos finished in 10th place after the scores were all totaled up.Â

The Gauchos will have a month to prepare for their next tournament which will take place in Litchfield Park, Arizona. UC Santa Barbara will head there to take part in the Gopher / Tommie Intercollegiate hosted by Minnesota and St. Thomas.
