HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gauchos started strong in doubles, with the duo of
Amelia Honer and
Lucy Lu delivering a convincing 6-2 win on court one. The critical doubles point was clinched on court three, where
Lily Pradkin and
Ali Benedetto battled to a tight 7-6 (7-4) victory. Court two remained unfinished at 6-6.
In singles, UCSB maintained their momentum. No. 10-ranked
Amelia Honer put the Gauchos on the board with a dominant 6-3, 6-1 win on court one.
Raphaelle Leroux followed with a 6-4, 6-1 victory on court four.
Tyra Richardson sealed the match for UCSB with a commanding 6-2, 6-2 win on court three, clinching the decisive fourth point for the Gauchos.
Katarina Vayser added another point with a solid 6-3, 6-2 win on court six. Although Anna Weissheim and
Emma Tutoveanu fell in tight matches, UCSB's early dominance secured the 5-2 victory.
