MALIBU, Calif. – The No. 43 UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis team delivered a statement victory on the road Thursday afternoon, taking down No. 26 Pepperdine 4-2 at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UCSB opened the match with a strong performance in doubles. The No. 1 duo of Amelia Honer and Ali Benedetto set the tone with a 6-3 win. After Pepperdine evened things up with a victory on court two, Raphaelle Leroux and Marie Weissheim clinched the doubles point for the Gauchos with a 6-4 win on court three.

The Gauchos carried that momentum into singles play. Raphaelle Leroux struck first with a convincing 6-3, 6-2 win on court four. Marie Weissheim followed with an impressive 6-2, 6-3 upset over No. 87-ranked Anastasiia Grechkina on court two to give UCSB a 3-0 lead. 

After Pepperdine picked up points on courts three and five, all eyes turned to court one, where No. 11 Amelia Honer sealed the upset with a clutch 6-4, 7-6 (9-7) win over Vivian Yang.

The match on court six between Katarina Vayser and Liam Oved was left unfinished.
