Waldock Places Top 30 in Season-Opening Event

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The UC Santa Barbara Golf team opened their 2025 fall season with a 12th place finish at the Ram Masters Invitational hosted by Colorado State. The Gauchos battled gusty conditions throughout their three rounds at Fort Collins Country Club.
 
ROUNDS 1 AND 2
During the first two rounds on day one, the Gauchos shot a 292 (+12) and a 298 (+18). Nick Waldock was the lone student-athlete to shoot even par in round one, recording three birdies en route to shooting an even-par 70. Dylan Ma and Jack Watters shot a two-over 72 and three-over 73, respectively.
 
After finishing up the first round in the top half of the field, UC Santa Barbara feel just a touch in the rankings after their round two performance. Three Gauchos, Nick Waldock, Dylan Ma and Ryan Gay shot a four-over 74 for the low score of the round. Ma recorded four birdies to lead the team in round two.
 
ROUND 3
The Gauchos rebounded from round two to shoot a 293 round three. Jack Watters was the team leader shooting a one-over 71 while also jumping up 14 places and finishing in the top 40 of field. Nick Waldock followed closely behind with a two-over 72 jumping up one place and finishing 26th.
 
UP NEXT
The Gauchos will return to Santa Barbara briefly before heading back to Colorado for the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational hosted by Air Force. The tournament begins on Sept. 20 and will conclude on Sept. 22.
