CARY, N.C. – The UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis team sent three student-athletes to the pre-qualifying round of the ITA All-American Championships. All three student-athletes won their first-round matchups before falling in the second round.
Raphaelle Leroux won a three-set thriller. After losing the first set 7-6 (8), the sophomore came back to win the next two sets, including a second tiebreaker in set three 7-6 (7). Following Leroux's performance,
Shachf Lieberman defeated her opponent from Iowa State in straight sets to earn her first win in the Blue and Gold.
Ekua Youri made it a Gaucho sweep on day one by winning her match in three sets, also earning her first win as a Gaucho.
With all three advancing to the second round, each of their runs would end there. All three Gauchos battled in tiebreakers or pushed the match to a third set.

The Gauchos will now gear up for The Big West Individual Championships that will be held in Long Beach, California, from October 2 through October 5.
