SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Despite narrowly dropping the doubles point, the UC Santa Barbara Men's Tennis team bounced back with a dominant singles sweep against FAU at home on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first result came on court two, where Dominique Rolland and Miguel Avendano were defeated 6-2 by Segundo Goity Zapico and Simon Myslivec. The Gauchos answered back at the No. 3 position, with Lorenzo Brunkow and Conrad Brown delivering a dominant 6-1 victory over Lucca Pignaton and Vanja Hodzic. The outcome was ultimately decided on the top court, where FAU's Mark Havlicek and Marek Pazdera narrowly topped Lucca Liu and Diogo Morais, 6-4, to clinch the point.

However, the Blue and Gold quickly turned the tide once singles play began, claiming all six matches to take control of the contest. Miguel Avendano sparked the comeback with a dominant performance at No. 4, defeating Lucca Pignaton 6-2, 6-2. Carson Lee followed with another straight-sets win at No. 5, taking down Jan Kusy 6-2, 6-3.

Momentum continued to build as Lucca Liu earned a 6-3, 6-4 win over Mark Havlicek at the No. 2 position. Diogo Morais then battled through a three-set thriller at No. 3, recovering from a second-set tiebreak loss to close out Simon Myslivec 6-2, 6-7 (6-8), 6-0, clinching the team victory for the Blue and Gold. At the top of the lineup, Dominique Rolland closed out a three-set win at the top of the lineup, defeating Segundo Goity Zapico 6-3, 4-6, 6-1, while Charlie Underwood capped the afternoon with a comeback victory at No. 6, rallying past Marek Pazdera 5-7, 6-2, 7-5.
