SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis has announced its 2026 Fall schedule, highlighted by appearances at regional championships, national qualifying events and professional tournaments. The slate features competition throughout California before culminating with opportunities for qualifying Gauchos to compete at championship events across the country.
The season begins Oct. 1-4 with UCSB splitting its squad between two events. A group of Gauchos will travel north for the Battle in the Bay in San Francisco, while others compete at the Big West Individual Championships hosted by UC San Diego in La Jolla.
Following the opening weekend, the Gauchos will reconvene in San Diego for the ITA Southwest Regional Championships from Oct. 15-20. The tournament is one of the largest events on the fall calendar, bringing together players from programs throughout the region for six days of competition.
Select players will remain in action at the ITF W35k Bakersfield event from Oct. 19-26. As part of the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour, the tournament offers the Gauchos a chance to compete in a professional setting against a field that extends beyond the collegiate ranks.
UCSB returns to collegiate competition Oct. 30-Nov. 1 at the Dennis Rizza Classic in Palos Verdes, one of the final tournaments before championship play begins.
The Gauchos will have opportunities to compete at multiple championship events Nov. 5-8. Qualifying players may travel to Los Angeles for the ITA West Sectionals at USC, while others could earn spots at the ITA Conference Masters Championship in Rome, Georgia.
The NCAA Individual Championships in Athens, GA, from Nov. 17-22, serves as the final event on the Fall calendar. The competition features a select field of competitors from across the country.
With a schedule that spans conference, regional, professional, and national competition, the Gauchos will face a wide variety of opponents throughout the season as they continue their development heading into the dual-match season.
