THE MATCH
Final: (RV) UC Santa Barbara 0, #3 Wake Forest 4
Records: (RV) UC Santa Barbara (6-1), #3 Wake Forest (7-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gauchos fought hard during the opening games of the doubles set, but ultimately Wake Forest pulled ahead to earn the doubles point. The Gauchos fell on courts two and three for the Deamon Deacons to earn the doubles point and go to singles up 1-0.

In singles, the Gauchos were able to notch a set one wins on courts two and three against Wake Forest. Avendano was up on the 14th-ranked singles player when the match was called. Unfortunately, that is all the momentum they could get going. Wake Forest won in straight sets on courts four, five and six to blank the Gauchos and stop any sort of comeback the Gauchos would attempt.
