SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara Men's Tennis team began competition at the ASU Diablos Collegiate Invitational with an impressive showing, sweeping No. 68 Boise State to snap its four-match losing streak.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gauchos opened the match with a strong showing in doubles play, securing the opening point behind victories on courts two and three. The tandem of Diogo Morais and Lorenzo Brunkow set the tone with a decisive 6-2 win over Idriss Haddouch and Filip Soderqvist at No. 3 doubles, before Dominique Rolland and Conrad Brown clinched the point with a 6-3 victory against Julius Seifert and Taiyo Kurata on court two. 

Carrying that energy into singles, the Gauchos quickly extended their advantage with Charlie Underwood earning a composed 6-4, 6-4 straight-set victory over Lukas Velik at No. 5 singles to put UCSB ahead. Lucca Liu followed with a hard-fought three-set win on court two, defeating Filip Soderqvist 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 to strengthen the Gauchos' lead. Shortly after, Diogo Morais delivered the clinching point at No. 3 singles, battling through a tight opening-set tiebreak before pulling away for a 7-6, 6-2 victory over Carson Baker.

Several matches remained competitive but unfinished following the match decision. Dominique Rolland held a 7-6, 5-4 advantage on court one, while Miguel Avendano and Carson Lee were locked in third sets at Nos. 4 and 6 singles, respectively, when play was halted.
